You would be "here for your appointment" even if it was next week.
Jayna @Tuplet How odd it would sound if the receptionist said, no you are not here for your appointment, it's next week.
Jayna @Tuplet I think we need to stop saying "I identify as X" because that's a really awkward way to say "I am X" and if you told me it was invented by bigots to make us sound like space aliens then I'd believe you.
Jayna @Tuplet I was going to say that only sincerity was required. You answer to an identity sincerely. But this isn't enough alone to ward off accusations of delusion.
The identity also has to be coherent. You can't identify as an att*ack h*elicopter because that's incoherent.
Jayna @Tuplet I really like the here for your appointment identity because I keep seeing ways in which it's true.
Like, there are certain expectations and actions expected of you, like being on time and sitting in the waiting room. It's a ROLE you play.
